Support for Soldiers in Transition
– by Westyn Crawford
Free peer-to-peer guidance for service members transitioning out of the military
The moment you join the military, you know one day your time in uniform will come to an end. Whether that’s a few months away, a few years down the road, or already happened, the transition to civilian life can be more complex and emotional than many expect.
The structure, sense of purpose, and camaraderie that defined your daily life in service don’t just disappear – that can be hard to replace. And when it’s time to step away, it’s not uncommon to feel lost in the question: “What now?”
I’ve been there. I know how it feels to walk away from something that shaped your identity — and to not know where exactly to begin again.
You’re not alone in this.
I’m here to support fellow service members and veterans who are navigating this important transition. It’s not about checklists or bureaucratic steps (though those matter too). It’s about helping you reconnect with:
- Your identity outside of the uniform
- Identifying a new sense of purpose
- A life that feels meaningful, not just manageable
- and a community that gets it
Sometimes, what we need most is a conversation with someone who’s walked the same path.
What I offer
- Honest, informal peer-to-peer support
- One-on-one conversations (online or in person, depending on location)
- Guidance, encouragement, and shared experience
- Absolutely free of charge – from soldier to soldier
This offer is open to anyone transitioning out of the military – whether it’s in transition or days, months, or years after separation.
About me – Westyn Crawford
I served 10+ years in the military, most recently as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Army. Now, after leaving active duty, I’m building a new life with my family and I want to give others the support that I didn’t have during my transition.
This space is personal to me. Because I know how powerful it is to simply be heard by someone who understands.
Currently based in Minnesota – consultations available online and locally.
You don’t have to figure this out alone. I’m here and I get it.
